Chapter 4-Training
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tie her up,
throw away the key.
See if she can escape from her dreadful past.
Tears begin to form, eyes begin to sob.
I look back,
to see if I left a life of luxary...
when all I left was myself.
Watch her, see if,
she may escape.
You look, she's not there...
You turn around, and see...
those teary eyes gazing back at you.
No.
You block it out.
You try to forget.
You allow it to escape...
---
My eyes flew open. My heart beat against my chest, rapidly. I was woken up by my piercing clock as it's alarm tore into my mind. I sighed, and I allowed my hand to come down on my clock with force. The sound stopped, fortunately.
I walked my way over to the bathroom with a yawn and stretch. It was a restful night's sleep if I may add. I had been so exhausted the night before that I slept like a rock. Oh, how invigorated I felt.
I walked out of the head, or bathroom, feeling quite refreshed. With that, I began making my way out of my room. Once out, a train of my thoughts hit me like a ton of bricks. I had remembered Master Yoda told me that today was going to be a very special day for my training.
Today was finally going to be an actual part of my phsical training. He said that I was going to be practicing my skills in my fighting areas. I was very excited and overwhelmed. Who knows what would be in store.
I could tell my footsteps were inching ever closer to the training room. I was beginning to feel anticipation swarm throughout myself. I was apprehensive, but at the same time, I felt overjoyed. Who knew what was going to be up Master Yoda's sleeve today!
I walked inside the training room with a joyful greeting, "Good mornin', Master Yoda! How are you?" "Well, Master Yoda isn't here, but I am," I heard the voice of Master Obi Wan say in a content tone. I was a bit brought back.
"Oh, good day to you, Master Obi Wan," I bowed. "Do you happen to know where Master Yoda is?" "Yes," he continued, "He sent me here this morning to give you a vital message."
I listened intently as he explained, "He has been sent to Kasheek for reasons that of his own. He has instructed me to be your tutor for a bit while things are streightened out there." I nodded.
"Alright, then," I went on, "Oh, by the way, did you ask him about the mission on Utapah?" "Indeed I did, Leeua," he replied kindly. "He has agreed to allow you to do so. He thinks this will be a rather good mission for you. He wishes for the force to be with you."
I grinned, "May the force be with all of us." Obi Wan replied, "I concur deeply. So, how's say we commence to your training? Master Yoda has left me with the guidelines that he was going to establish with you today."
I nodded enthusiastically. "Let's do it!" "Excellent!" he continued, "Follow me then?" I did as he said, and he led me to what I presumed to be a rather large room. It felt cold and eerie inside. I felt a freezing chill crawl up my spine.
"Now, Leeua," he continued, "Once I place this on top of your head, do not fear. It is only a manipulation of the mind. You are going to feel like you are in a real battle, fighting vicious enemies, though you will not be harmed. It's not real."
I nodded hesitantly. Nervousness crawled up my back once again. I felt him slide on as it perched atop my head, and I could feel an odd sensation once Obi Wan began to start it up...
---
My eyes closed, and I began to hear everything. The sounds of gunshots, screams, corpses falling to the ground, shouts, cries of anguish, staffs ramming up against each other, grunts, malicious attempts to attack, and just about everything that struck fear into my mind and heart ehoed inside my of heart. I began running desperately.
I felt my feet collide with the ground beneath. I was at full speed running faster than I ever have been before, and I could feel my adrenaline pumping throughout my entire body, rapidly. My heart beat, repeatedly without letup. I heard shouts, and they were vicious words towards me. I was terrified, I couldn't stand it. I felt something run up against me with pure force.
I grunted in pain as I plummeted to the ground. A voice shrieked in my ear. I hypothesized it to be a clone trooper falling. "Watch yourself, jedi!" He exclaimed. My eyes gazed where his voice was coming from. I was at a loss of words, I was speechless, I was dumbfounded... I felt a hand grab me by the shoulder and pull me up. "Fight, jedi!" I heard his voice again. "Fight!"
It then all came back to me. All so bluntly, I remembered what Master Yoda taught me throughout the weeks I had been there daily at the Jedi Academy. It fludded inside of my mind like a dank blanket. My mind was now clear. I could think streight without having to put every single bit of effort into it. Master Yoda taught me a special, unique power. He said that it was unique since it would only work on those who lack a skill such as seeing like myself.
He explained to me, and he also had shown me how to use a force in a way that I could see by using it. I closed my eyes lightly, and I did not let anything get in the way of disrupting me, noises, distractions, sounds, nothing. I allowed my mind to only dwell with that of my own concentrated thoughts. I could feel an odd feeling sneak up on me. Though, it's hard to explain, I was almost traveling along with the force. My body stayed in its exact same place, but I felt myself traveling along with the flow of the force...
I could now see by using its aid. It was almost as if we were both one when using this unique gift. I allowed my eyes to remain shut, but I could see what was going on directly in front of me. I looked all around, up and down, everywhere. I then went for my side. I pulled out the unexpected; in my hand was a hilt of some sort of weapon. It was designed magnificently. The markings running up and down it were too amazing to explain, though I could feel myself being lifted by this object.
Twirling it around in the air, I allowed my thumb to hit a button on the side of the hilt. A long, glowing, green lightsaber was before my eyes extended. Its glow stunned me as I gazed up and down at its beautiful, colorful array of shine and grace. I held it as said by my master, and began running towards every single brute I could come in contact with.
The battlefield was huge, and there were trees everywhere. I imagined myself on the plains of Kasheek. Trees hugged the perimiter as troopers, wookies, and droids ran up and down the area fighting with force, anger, and hate. I remained calm, kowing that was the jedi way, though. I allowed no emotion to corner me in its path of rage and doubt.
A droid suddenly caused me to come to a hault of my rising velocity. I stopped in my path and held my weapon tight. My grip remained stronger than ever. I gritted my teeth. Missiles, lazers, and bombs of mass destruction were being hurdled at me as the droid continued with its ongoing attack. I blocked and parried the oncoming attacks. I kept at it, my grip becoming strengthened.
Once close enough, I jumped high into the air and came down on top of the destructive robot as it split apart in two. I felt each wire inside of the robot being torn and ripped to shreds by my forceful attack. I could hear it's faint sounds of attempt to keep alive, though I caused that to come to an instant hault. Though it tried, its try was not good enough.
Footsteps were coming in my direction. I spun around to see at least over twenty droids coming in my direction. Again, I gripped the hilt of my lightsaber. I allowed myself to once again become at ease as I fought. I did not allow anything to make me mad, angry, or upset. I remained in an unemotional state when fighting. I looked towards the droids as they inched ever closer.
As they made their way right on top of me, I jumped in the air. I could feel every pulse in my body begin to beat, I felt my muscles tighten, my eyes strain, my entire body began to tense up, my breathing became heavier, my eyes began to grow wider, I felt my knuckles crack as my grip grew stronger and stronger. A force like no other came from the very depths inside of myself. Every droid was blown back, they all tore to pieces, their appendages being ripped by the strength of the force.
I fell to the ground. As I stood to my full heighth, I looked around. The droids that had been running in my direction were destryed in the blink of an eye. My breathing became slower and much more broader. I felt myself become less tense. I looked around the area. Pieces, parts, appendages of every sort of droid lied on the ground beneath. ... I let out a sigh of relief as I felt my self come back with reality...
---
I fell to my knees. The entire time, I had been iside the machine. I sighed with relief as I realized nothing had just been reality. Though, I once again was able to see... but in a new light. In it, my gaze went along with the force.
"Leeua!" shouted Obi Wan. I heard his footsteps grow closer towards me. "Yes?" I gained his attention as I continued to regain my recomposure. He was speechless; I heard his stutters.
"That was truly," he continued, "... Remarkable! Leeua... I've never seen anything like it." I was still in a state of shock myself. Nothing like that had ever occured before. It was bizarre and just down right... weird. Though, in a good way.
"Master Obi Wan," I went on, "to be honest, neither have I. Master Yoda taught me how to use the force in such a way to the extent, but... not in that perspective." I coughed a bit. The machine had really worn me out.
"Very interesting," He said. "Well, though we haven't ever seen anything like that, Leeua, it was still very impressive." I bowed, grinning, "Thank you, master." "I have one question, though," he added.
"What would that be?" I replied. He cleared his throat and answered, "What was it like? If you had to explain it, what sort of sensation was that?" I thought for a moment. It wasn't something I could just blurt out, simply.
"Well," I continued, "I can't just come out and say it... My thoughts, mind, sight... me... It's like I was traveling along with the force. I could feel myself at one with it. I could see with it, I could hear with it, I could travel with it. It was bizaare."
"Indeed," Obi Wan replied. "That is quite different, but you are to be commended. In my lifetime, never have I ever seen anything like it." I nodded, "Well, thank you, master."
"You are quite welcome," He stated kindly. "Well, Leeua, I think that will be enough training for today. What do you think?" I agreed deeply, "Yes, yes! I really do agree with that." He laughed.
"Alright, then," he said. "Off with you. I must go and meditate. Be ready for tomorrow, Leeua." I tilted my head. "Why's that?" I asked. Obi Wan chuckled. Wasn't it obvious?
"Because, Leeua," he went on, "Tomorrow's the day we head to Utapah. Just to make sure, are you still ready for the challenge, or would you like to wait?" I nodded with enthusiasm.
"I'm ready for it," I stated. Master Obi Wan Kenobi could sense the seriousness in my tone. "Very good, then," he replied. "Be ready bright and early tomorrow." I once again nodded, "Yes, sir."
I walked away, bidding my dues to Master Obi Wan. I headed towards my room. I decided to head in early, so that I would be fully rested for the big day. I sighed as my thoughts dwelled on such a matter...
