.Blind Eyes.

Chapter 6-Saving Me

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hold her, console her, ease her pain.

Wipe away her tears,

comfort her, make her feel...

she's one of a kind.

Help her see,

she's special.

Let her know,

she's loved.

Remind her everyday,

she's unique.

Make known...

that you love her.

She's a one of a kind...

and you adore her...

---

My skin crawled as I reached for the doorknob. 'Who knows what would lie on the other side?' I thought. My eyes closed, gently. I let out a deep breath, trying to regain my composure.

My muscles began to tense, my adrenaline began to rise, and my heart began to pound. My hand grasped onto my cloak as if to relief stress. 'Calm down, Leeua,' I reassured myself. 'It can't be anything that bad.'

I opened the door. I was ready for anything to be thrown at me. My heart skipped a beat from the tension. My breathing weakened in strength. My gaze wandered everywhere. I heard nothing...

I stood there a moment. 'Was this a trick?' I wondered. 'Who's idea was this?' I allowed for my ears to gather each paassing sound that came my way. My heart began to beat more rapidly than before...

I suddenly felt my entire body come to a hault. My senses began to detect an odd occurance in the air. I blinked my eyes to relief the strain, and suddenly, my eyesight hit me like an aircraft flying at a fast rate.

Though, it was not a normal type of sight, I was seeing with the force once again. I looked all around myself, my eyes picked up a small object at my feet. I gazed at it in wonder. My eyes suddenly widened.

I jumped back just in time. The small device exploded; obviously, it was a rather small grenade. My lips quivered as the smoke circulated around the room. My eyes worked even harder to see past the hazy like cloud.

Three clone troopers stormed in with readied weapons. They were all in their fighting stances. My eyes grew large from the fear and sudden reactions. I pulled the hood closer over my head, and attempted to dash out of the room.

I managed to make my way past the troopers through the thick smoke from the grenade. I ran out of my room, and I darted away. I could hear their footsteps running out, as well. Apparently, they had much more up their sleeves... MUCH more.

My gaze turned towards the corner of my eye. The clones began fiering their blasters at me without any letup, whatsoever. With the force's aid, I leapt into the air with abnormal skill. I noticed the missiles travel directly underneath me as I flew into the air.

I landed on the ground as my feet collided on the floor. My gaze turned towards the troopers. One motioned with his hand. I cocked an eyebrow as he did such. 'What's he doing?' I thought.

Yet, another trooper strolled up, but he looked different. He was garbed in the same armor, though he wore a blue sash. He didn't even carry a blaster with him. He stood there as his black vizor reflected my image.

I ran at him. Once on his trail, I bean throwing punches at the clone. He was dodging them faster than anyone I had ever witnessed in my life. I kicked at him, but he parried. I punched at him, but he blocked it.

"How are you doing that!?" I demanded as I gritted my teeth. He clenched his fist, and he punched me square in the stomach. I keeled over in pain, holding my stomach to try and soothe the hurt.

I felt his hand grip my throat. He lifted me off of the ground, and allowed me to hang there limp. I gazed at him with fire in my eyes. "Why are you attacking me?" I coughed up.

A blade potruded from underneath his arm. He had concealed it under his suit as he pressed it against my neck. "It's not just you, kid," he hissed. "It's all jedi scum." My teeth clenched, I pried away from his hands, but it was useless.

I felt the blade press against my throat harder; I flinched as blood began to trickle. "Say goodbye, child," he spoke menacingly in my ear. My knuckles grew pale as they tightened their grip to pry myself away.

I kicked him away, thankfully my idea had succeeded. He was thrown against the wall as I stood there in fear. He stood up. i could just hear the anger ooze from his tone, "You are going to regret ever doing that, jedi."

He leaped towards me. This time, he had two, drawn, sword-like weapons extended. He began slashing at me, rapidly. I tried my hardest to dodge them. He slashed at my side as a large gash began to form. My back was now torn up as blood spilt from the injuries he had caused.

Blood poured from my open wounds. I began to grow cold as my energy left me. He laughed at me as my body rocked back and fourth. "What's wrong, kid? Had enough?" he asked in a mocking voice.

I shook my head, weakly. "No," I answered, "I've only begun." "You are a persistant one," he replied. "I'll give you that." He rushed in my direction, slashing, dicing, throwing his attacks at me, ongoingly.

I attempted to fight back, but I gave in. My heart couldn't take it. I ran in the opposite direction of my enemy. His gaze lingered on me. In the distance, I heard him speak, "We have got a runner."

I sped pass several troopers as they fired their weapons at me. Many missed, several hit. Energy was deceasing fom my body as I continued to run. My velocity began to slow down, dramatically.

I was now at a slow, walking pace. I collapsed to the ground as weaknes ate me up. My breathing began to slow down, and my wounds started aching and burning even more so.

I shook violently as blood soaked the ground from my open wounds. 'This is it' I thought. 'This is what death tastes like.' I closed my eyes, softly. I wanted to black out, I wanted the pain to cease...

---

Commander Zeke strode through the corridors of the Jedi Training Temple. His eyes scanned the hallways of any lurking jedi that remained obscure. He loaded his gun, just to be on the safe side.

"Perimiter secure, General," he announced over his wrist watch. The General praised him, "Good, return to your sector, Commander." Zeke nodded as he turned his radio off. He picked up an odd sound.

He reaied his weapon as he backed against the wall. He held it to the side of himself with his other hand free. He got in position as he inched closer to the corner of the wall. He leapt out with his gun ready to fire.

What he saw caused his heart to skip a beat. A young girl laid there motionless on the ground. Blood stained the floors as her breathing became more and more hoarse. He walked up to her.

His eyes studied the small human. They widened when they recognized the child. "Leeua," Zeke said, softly. "Leeua... speak to me." He got no response. He kneeled down beside the young girl.

He put his hand upon her neck. A slight, weakened pulse beat with each second. He felt her forehead. It was like ice, in fact, she was like ice. From so much blood loss, her body began to loose conciousness.

"Leeua," he became frantic. "Please, answer me!" The young girl just let out small strokes of breath. She shook violently. He stroked her forehead, gently with his thumb.

Commander Zeke picked the child up in his arms. Her head laid upon his neck. He shivered from her freezing, chilled skin. He shrugged the feeling off as he walked off...

---

I woke up in a small, obscure room. the lights were dim, and everything was all a blur. I heard a voice in the distance. He sounded... so far away. I tried to answer him the best I could.

"W-Who's ...t-there?" I managed to couch up. A soft hand gently rubbed my head as it soothed, me of my tension. The force inside of me had weakened, perilously. My sight had left me once again.

"Save your energy, Leeua," I heard a voice reassure me. "I am not going to harm you." I felt much more at ease, knowing I would not be harmed. I tried my hardest to thank him for his utmost kindness, but he shushed me. I was at no level to be talking with such a lack of energy.

I felt a cool, crisp rag laid upon my head. It helped die down the fever that had snuck up on me as blood continued to spill. Though, I did begin to feel my energy come back, slowly and steadily.

I wanted to thank my rescuer, but my voice would not allow me to. M energy was at a dangerously low level, though my composure was starting to regain itself. I had a slight coughing fit as I felt my fever leave my body.

I finally managed to speak in a soft voice, "T-Thank... you." He held my hand, stroking it. He replied simply, "You're welcome." A small grin escaped my lips. I felt at ease knowing I was safe...

My color began to come back to me, I could tell. I felt the flow of blood pulse throughout my veins once again. My energy level even dashed upwards as I felt my body able to move a little bit.

I couldn't move much, but what I could do, offered to be of much aid to me. I was finally able to speak to my source of refuge throughout this entire time, "Truly, kind sir, I appreciate your kindness along my time of need. I don't believe I would have made it if it weren't for you." I smiled.

"You are quite welcome," he continued to my surprise, "Leeua." My jaw gaped open. 'He knows my name?' I quizically pondered. "How do you know my name?" I asked, curiously.

He chuckled, "You know me, just think for a moment." I thought hard. His voice, his kind acts, his way of communication. "... Commander Zeke!" I exclaimed in a content tone.

"Exactly," he answered. "Nice to see you again, Leeua." "I wish I could say the same," I chuckled over the pun. "Ok, I have a vital question, and I want a direct answer."

"Go on," Zeke motioned. I nodded, "Why in the name of the jedi order, are the clones attacking!?" There was an off silence. It was slightly awkward, but he finally managed to answer me.

"Well, Leeua," he went on, "I won't lie to you. ... I don't even know." My jaw dropped. "You are a clone trooper! How could you not know-Ow!" I flinched in pain from the gash on my back.

He pushed my head back down. "Leeua, you need rest if you want to heal properly," Zeke said. "Besides, I am not even a high ranked clone. I'm just a... You know, I don't even think I have a rank, I'm so insignificant."

My gaze lowered. I felt sorry for Zeke, he was such a hard working trooper, and he wasn't even rewarded for his efforts. "I'm sorry," I replied, sadly. "You aren't insignificant. If anything, you are much more important than you think of yourself to be."

He chuckled, lightly. "Thank you, Leeua," he replied. I nodded, grinning. "We have to get you out of here, though somehow," Zeke continued. "If we wait, however for you to heal, it will take too long."

"I'm pretty much healing myself at a steady pace here," I answered. A cheeky smile appeared on my face. "The force works in mysterious ways, eh?" He laughed, "True. So, you want to head on out in the line of fire?"

I nodded. "Either that, or we'll be found out by the other clones," I said. I attempted to force myself on the ground. Zeke helped me up, and allowed for me to hang onto him for support.

"I have one question, by the way," I added. I felt his arm supporting me on my right side as he spoke. "Yes?" "Is this a trick to lure me into your grasp, and use me as a lowly slave where I'll be forced to wait on you hand and foot?" I was rather blunt, but it had to be asked.

He laughed, "No, Leeua. I'm doing it out of the kindness of my heart; don't worry." I shrugged, replying, "Ok, then." Zeke led me to what I suspected to be the exit of the room. I sighed an anticipated breath.

I was scared. I didn't know where Master Yoda, Master Obi-Wan, or any of the jedi were. ...I also wondered where Master Anakin Skywalker was at such a time like this. My wonderment lingered over him the most. I felt that something was wrong with him... I sensed it...

My appreciation hovered over Commander Zeke. He saved my life and all I could say to him was, "Thank you." I felt terrible that I could do nothing more than that. I wished to do so much more, just to repay him the favor...

I awaited for our encounters with the other clones that would be ambushing us soon. I needed something, though. An important weapon in the jedi training unit. Something that would come in quite handy...

"A lightsaber!"
